• Riding a horse

To ride a horse you must first purchase or find a wild one. Then stand next to the horse and double click on it to mount it. Once you are on a horse you double click on it again to dismount it.

• Opening Doors

To open a door simply move your mouse over the door until a yellow arrow appears, then click on the door to enter. Some doors do not have yellow arrows as they may be locked, Sometimes you will need a key (or more) to unlock a door.

• Using Keys

If an object is locked, and can be opened, a Lock box window will appear on the screen. To open a locked object, either drag a key over to it from your inventory's keyring, or hold down the "Control" key on your keyboard and click the correct key in your inventory. Once the correct key is in the lock box you will be able to click the "Open" button.

• Player to Player trades

To trade with a player click once on that player with a left mouse click. Then click on the "Trade with Player" button found in the Select menu.

To complete a trade, drag the item you wish to trade into the trade window block. Once the player you are trading with has done the same, click on the "accept trade" button to complete the trade. The new item will now be in your inventory.

Access your inventory by clicking on the Inventory button found under the chat box. In this menu you can use and equip items you have collected in the game.

• How to Pick up items:

To pick an item up off the ground simply click it and drag it into your inventory. The same goes for taking items from a 'loot bag' after killing a monster.

• How to Equip items:

Simply hold down the "Control" key on your keyboard and click on an item in your inventory to quickly equip it to the proper inventory slot. You can also manually click and drag items from your inventory into the correct equipment slot and vice versa to unequip.

• Opening Bags:

If you find a pouch, backpack, or bag in your journeys you can put extra items inside these containers. To do so simply double click the bag and it will open a pop-up window showing the bags content. Drag items to and from a container by clicking and dragging them.

• Quick Use Command

To pick up, eat, or to quickly equip an item, hold down the "Control" key on your keyboard and click on the item. This bypasses the need to click and drag items, if so desired, and will automatically pick up, eat, or use the item.
As you play the game and win more battles your character will gain experience points. As in most other role playing games the more experience you obtain ( xp for short ) the higher your characters "level" will go. When you gain a level in Ogre Island you will receive "Focus Points". Tthese focus points are used to enhance your players attributes.

Using Focus Points
Using Focus Points is easy. While in game, click on the player attribute button. This will open up your players detailed stats. To spend your focus point simply click on the player attribute you wish to improve. Each focus point will raise an attribute up one point. So if you raise your strength up one point only your player's strength will be raised, not hp. To raise hp click on the hp bar. Once you have spent your focus points you will not receive more until you level up again. You cannot remove a spent focus point.
Skill Points

At certain levels you will receive a "Skill Point". A Skill point will allow your player to learn a new skill. No one character can obtain every skill in the game. Be careful what skills you pick. Make sure you pick skills that will help you perfect your character because you cannot remove a skill once you have learned it.

• Combat Overview

While playing the game you will undoubtedly come into contact with monsters. When this happens you will have to either fight or run. The point is, at some point you will need to use a combat skill in the game. The default combat skill is unarmed. How many combat skills you pick up depends on the character you are trying to form. A mage will use magic skills for combat where a fighter will use melee weapons for combat.

• Melee Weapons

Before you wander off into the wilderness it might be good to pick up a melee weapon skill. These skills are SWORD, AXE, DAGGER, MACE, AND STAFF. Melee weapons are one-handed attack weapons, leaving your other hand open for a shield. Melee attack styles vary from weapon to weapon. You will find a wide variety of enchanted and rare melee weapons. Many weapons will have armor and attack bonuses.

• Archery

If you would like more of a long distance relationship with the monsters on the island you'd best pick up a bow and some arrows. Perhaps a crossbow? The Archery skill allows for some distance between you and your prey, or predator, leaving you a head start if you feel the sudden urge to run from battle.

• Thrown Weapons

Like target practice? Then pick up some throwing knives. The Thrown weapons skill will allow your player to throw objects like stars, daggers, darts, and knives in battle. As your level progresses you will be able to throw more at once, and have better accuracy!

• Two Handed Weapons

Two handed weapons allow for more damage per swing. The downside is that you cannot hold a shield and it takes longer to swing when attacking. The plus is that you can do major damage and the weapons distance is substantial making it harder for enemies to dodge your swing.

Parry

Hate losing health in battle? Then pick up the Parry skill. This defense skill will allow your player to dodge and block monster attacks. Using this skill will save you money because you will use less healing potions. It will also allow for you to win more battles.
